Mr. Stepanovich has 34 years of experience trying cases in courtrooms across the country including matters attracting national recognition. A federal judge that he appeared before described him a “trial lawyer with few peers.” He has been selected as a lifetime member of The Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum, the top trial lawyers in America. He has also recently been recognized by America’s Top 100 Attorneys, fewer than 1% of U.S. attorneys are members.
Mr. Stepanovich concentrates his practice on litigation matters with a particular expertise in constitutional and civil rights litigation in federal courts, including the United States Supreme Court where he has appeared as Counsel in three cases:
In his three-decade career, he has also successfully represented personal injury victims obtaining jury verdicts and settlements into the millions. Early in his career, Mr. Stepanovich served as a prosecuting attorney where he prosecuted hundreds of felony cases including jury trials for capital murder, murder, rape and extortion.
Since 1995, Mr. Stepanovich has served on the Faculty of Regent University School of Law as an Adjunct Professor where he has taught First Amendment Law, Trial Practice, and Civil Pretrial Practice and Procedure.
Mr. Stepanovich has appeared on national media outlets as a legal commentator on constitutional and civil rights issues.
He is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York and the Eastern District of Virginia, the United States Court of Appeals for the Second, Fourth and Sixth Circuits; and the Virginia and New York State Supreme Courts. He is also admitted to the Ohio State Supreme Court, where he is currently inactive.
